Viking Turtle Brooches. Used to hold up overdress and cloak. Made with lead free pewter, cast by a metalsmith on a traditional forge.

Viking women of higher status wore ornate oval brooches to fasten their outer garment (apron) which was held up by straps over the shoulders. These 'turthle brooches' are commonly found in women's graves and art of the Viking period.

Worn with bead chains and charms to show further wealth and protection. See our other Viking items for such bead strings and charms.
